Roan Van de Moosdijk flew across the Orlyonok motocross circuit off the Black Sea Coast of Russia with the fastest times in qualifying and free practice on Saturday at the Junior MX World Championships.
"The race circuit was on top of a mountain, and it looked out over the Black Sea. It was hot, 30 degrees, really hot. And the humidity was very high. Saturday was definitely worse than Sunday," van de Moosdijk said.
On Sunday in the first moto he slipped from an imperfect start to third after the first turn, but quickly assumed authority of his YZ125 and proceeded to pass in lap two and go on to win.
