IDM News Team Yamaha MGM Aims to Repeat Success at the Nürburgring After securing the first Superbike*IDM victory for the YZF-R1M at the Lausitzring a fortnight ago, Team Yamaha MGM heads to the Nürburgring with extra determination to score another top result at the fourth round of the International German Championship this weekend. Still elated from his first win of the 2015 season at the Lausitzring, Max Neukirchner is eager to get back aboard his YZF-R1M. Though he was very pleased with the 45-points he gained, the German is keen on further improving his pace. This weekend he sets out to score a perfect double-win at the Nürburgring, which is another track he really likes and where he won the second race last year. Teammate Damian Cudlin also knows the Nürburgring well and was last year's race winner in the first outing. The new YZF-R1M has not been tested at this circuit before, but the Australian is confident that machine and the track will be a good match. He has been working hard over the previous rounds to perfect his bike's set-up, scoring a solid double top-five result at the last race weekend. He hopes to further improving his pace for the coming race and challenge for a podium finish. The Nürburgring is an exciting race circuit with 55 metres elevation change. Throughout the weekend the track will lend itself for a wide range of riding activities for residential and business customers. The spectators are also welcome to access the paddock and experience the motorsport action from up close, and that's not all. Fans shouldn't just expect top-notch racing, but also entertainment in the large leisure center built right next to the circuit in 2009. Attractions include a shopping mall, entertainment centers, a hotel and a holiday village, making this Superbike*IDM weekend the perfect family getaway. Max Neukirchner Championship: 2nd, 101 points "After claiming our first win at Lausitzring I have a very good feeling, because we were really able to achieve a lot. For the Nürburgring we have some small things to improve with the bike. With these changes I hope that we'll be able to be at the top permanently. I like the Nürburgring, it definitely belongs to my favorites and I'm looking forward to riding the new Yamaha there. The first part of the track is a little bit difficult and takes some getting used to. The second part is good for me, because it consists of plenty of fast corners and is very fluid. The goal is to beat Markus Reiterberger and I think we're really within striking distance. My personal goal is to win both races." Damian Cudlin Championship: 7th, 46 points "I have plenty of good memories from Nürburgring. I've had some successes there in the past and I won there last year, so I like the track. I also think that some of the high-speed corners will help us, because the Yamaha is good in these fast turns. It's another new track with the new bike, so of course we have to start from scratch again, but I have a feeling this circuit will suit our bike. Hopefully we can both challenge for the podium, that's the goal." Michael Galinski – Team Yamaha MGM Team Manager "It's the fourth time in a row that we only have one weekend break between the races, so we won't have any big changes made for the Nürburgring. Nevertheless we did a big step with the setting last time out and try to fine-tune our progress and keep up the good work. Damian will try to adapt his riding style even more to the new YZF-R1M and then we hope to see both our riders on the rostrum. With Max we're trying to repeat the success of the last round."
