The MRS Yamaha team makes its way to Misano for the eighth stop on the eni FIM Superbike World Championship calendar, staged at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli this weekend.
It will be another action packed weekend, as thirty-eight riders will dash towards the first chicane at the start of the Superstock 1000 race during the PATA Riviera di Rimini Round.
Two weeks ago Kev Coghlan had a brave ride to fifth during the race in Portimão, where he rode with a fractured right little finger. The Briton was on the verge of a podium finish, motivating him even more to fight with the front riders this weekend.
On the mend from his hand injury and with a basis set-up already sorted out in pre-season testing, he feels confident he can get another top result in Misano. He is determined to ride his YZF-R1M to the podium during Sunday's sprint and bridge the five points gap to third place in the championship standings.
Teammate Florian Marino also gave a heroic performance at his return in Portugal. He was forced to sit out the race in Donington after a high-speed crash in Imola, but was back in the saddle just four weeks later. Riding with surgical plates in his right forearm, he stunned with an eleventh place finish, scoring him vital championship points.
Marino is working hard on his recovery and is getting fitter every single day. With only three races still to go in the 2015 FIM Superstock 1000 Cup, he looks forward to being able to give a 100 per cent this weekend to climb up from tenth place in the overall rankings.
