MT-09 Tracer Released For Immediate Release: Tuesday, March 3, 2015 + Download a larger photo The Tracer sets out to shatter the myth that bikes in this class should be heavy, ponderous and expensive. The original MT-09's agility, screaming three-pot engine and fantastic affordability was a game changer.
Now Yamaha has taken the concept one step further with a sports tourer that combines an aggressive character with serious long distance potential to shatter the myth that bikes in this class should be heavy, ponderous and expensive.
Equipped with a sharp looking cowling as well as a large capacity fuel tank – and benefiting from an adjustable riding position – the Tracer is developed as the ultimate weekender; capable of two-up-touring, or solo fun, with or without the standard side panniers.
But this is no ordinary tourer, and the Tracer's torque-laden crossplane triple-cylinder engine, with traction control is built to thrill, while at the same time providing functionality few can match. Just take a look at some of the stand-out features below: - 847cc, 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine
- ABS, Switchable TCS, Y-CCT and Tracer-specific D-MODE selectable running modes
- Multifunction dot matrix instrument panel
- Aerodynamic cowling with twin LED headlights
- 3-position height adjustable windscreen, upright riding position, height adjustable seat
- Large capacity long-range 18-litre fuel tank
- Side panniers as standard for all NZ models
- Ultra-light aluminium frame and swingarm bring dry weight in at 190kg or 210kg ready-to-rip
This stunning machine has already sent the Northern Hemisphere press into a frenzy at the recent European launch, with some of that feedback below:
"Will there be a better bike this year" – Ride Magazine
"A brilliant 115hp do-it-all motorcycle" – Bike Magazine
"Already a leading contender for 2015 Bike of the Year" - MCN
The Tracer will be available from March onwards with an RRP of $17,999 + ORC.
